Cost Accountant – Hendersonville, NC

Position Overview:

The Cost Accountant is responsible for applying effective analysis principles to accurately reflect product costs in the development of Standard Costs. The Cost Accountant reports to the Engineering and Cost Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Plan, study, and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor.
  • Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods or services provided, to determine effects on cost.
  • Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems.
  • Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts.
  • Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues. Reconcile inventories.
  • Report on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances.
  • Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies.
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
  • Update standard costs in the bill of materials.
  • Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close.
  • Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Make estimates of new and proposed product costs.
  • Develop and manage Cost / Price analysis spec. sheets.
  • Prepare customer and product pricing analysis.
  • Conduct research and perform analytical studies in regard to cost analysis and profitability.
  • Continuous management and support of budget and forecast activities.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Cost Accounting in a Manufacturing Environment with a Standard Cost System
  • Manufacturing accounting experience.
  • Standard Cost experience.
  • ERP/MRP experience is necessary.
  • CPA/CMA certification is a plus.

  • Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on development and analysis of cost standards.
  • Ability to accurately prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.

Provide assistance to Maintenance staff and duties as assigned by Supervisor. Perform basic maintenance duties and functions.

Apparel Sewing Supervisor – Spindale, NC

Summary

The production supervisor is responsible for the execution of all production work of converting cut goods into sewn goods as per tech packs instructions. The Supervisor delivers goods on a designated shipment date. He or she is responsible for sewing, and finishing of apparel goods.  The supervisor works with the different heads of the different departments to help ensure products leaves on time.  

Duties and responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise sewing floor to achieve best results
  • Manage production to ensure schedules and quality standards are met
  • Provide leadership in the areas of auditing, standards of work, and best practices
  • Hire, train, develop and coach team in personal goals, accountabilities and monitoring of quality
  • Develop and supervise training, cross-training and rotation plans for employees to increase flexibility and create a workforce that can compensate for sudden changes in demand/resources
  • Recommend and implement process improvements for designated functional area
  • Actively supervise, administer and enforce plant policies and procedures
  • Work with other Value Stream Managers, supervisors and leads to resolve problem situations
  • Ensure efficient and profitable utilization of manpower, machinery and material
  • Comply with Codes of Safe Practices and work in accordance with company safety policies and train team to do the same
  • Maintain employee attendance records

Position Requirements

  • At least 2 years of direct supervision of others preferred
  • Problem solving and conflict resolution experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • At least 3 years of experience in industrial sewing

Night Shift Manufacturing Manager – Spindale, NC

Position Overview:

Responsible for managing all production activities for MWW products by supervising staff, organizing production and monitoring workflow.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Overall management responsibility for operations of plant manufacturing and overseeing all departments on the night shift.
  • Operational support for print & transfer sampling, on-demand module, management of processes and resources to fabricate products for each department.
  • Make decisions on labor requirements necessary to execute production, including OT usage, FTE increases/decreases during production waves, etc. Work with HR and staffing agencies to maintain proper job fulfillment goals.
  • Oversee and track employee attendance, wage, abilities and progression based on set standards.
  • Understand equipment needs and conditions across all departments
  • Manage a team consisting of 3 print leads, 2 transfer leads, canvas lead, technical supervisor
  • Aide production control & engineering in capacity measurement and analysis.
  • Utilize data provided from quality control to analyze issues and direct/support continuous production improvement opportunities throughout production processes.
  • Support MWW management policies and procedures and enforce in day-to-day activities.

Education and Experience:

  • 3 years as a supervisor in an industrial environment
  • Experience managing a segment of a large manufacturing area or an entire operation of a small manufacturing facility

Plant Production Supervisor – Hendersonville, NC

Position Overview:  

Facilitates manufacturing of products by supervising staff, organizing production and monitoring work flow.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by: (1) communicating job expectations; (2) planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; (3) coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; (4) initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
